About Me

Hi, I'm Jenn (she/her)! I'm a Connecticut native, living just a short way from my hometown. I currently reside in Gales Ferry with my husband, our three amazing (yet, imperfect) children, and our little personal zoo.

I was called to birth work after the births of my own two children. The first of my children came after a very traumatic labor and delivery experience. I spent much of his infancy healing and wishing things had gone differently. When I became pregnant again, I knew I wanted things to go much differently and hired professional doula support. I peacefully welcomed our second child into the world with great joy for a positive, healing experience. I wanted this feeling to become something more families experienced. I wanted to help people have birth experiences they could look back on with fondness, as I was now able to do. I signed up for training almost immediately and supported my first family when my youngest son was just eight months old.

When we chose to expand our family once more, we found ourselves immersed in the world of reproductive technologies as we underwent the process of IVF to conceive our daughter. While it was a very difficult experience and time in our lives, it also filled me with brand new insight on navigating pregnancy and birth after loss and making the transition to maternity care from the fertility clinic.

As a person who has spent their entire adulthood with a chronic illness as part of my life, I also have a very special place in my heart for families entering parenthood with chronic illness/disabilities. I love working alongside these families to help them adapt to the challenges of caring for their new addition that works best for their physical abilities and creates a feeling of strength and independence in their new roles.
I have worked with many different types of families; from the LGBTQIA+ community, military families, and blended or untraditional family structures. It has been an honor to serve such a diverse population and I find myself gaining new insight or knowledge with each family I work with.
I would love to share my wealth of knowledge, experience, and insight with your family, too!

My Philosophy

Much like our bodies and family-planning decisions, birth is not one-size fits all. It is my goal to help you create a plan that best suits your needs and desires for your family's unique experience.
